Blood diamond
It was high time Hollywood stopped trying to make people care about genocide in Africa with stuff like Hotel Rwanda and simply embraced its natural impulse to exploit. Now it's just a really exciting and gory backdrop for a chase movie about a hot smuggler chasing diamonds who then falls for sexy American journalist Connelly.
Halfway through the movie, I stopped worrying about exploitation and decided that more people will go see this than any documentary about Darfur. It'll be like seeing it on Oprah. At least they'll know it exists. Of course, I'm still wondering if that's better than nothing. And it does have a few exciting suspense moments. Not enough, but some.
Who Hates Jennifer Connelly? My guess is that it's director Edward Zwick. I have no proof of this, mind you, other than the little problem of her performance being world-class awful. It's the kind of sore thumb that makes you think careful editing and a grudge was involved.
The last scene, when the guy from 7th Heaven is talking and the diamond industry gets to tell you that they do not condone the sort of "conflict diamonds" the whole movie is about. Then there's uplifting dumbness with Hounsou. If you just get up and go, you'll save yourself from a big inappropriate laugh in a crowded theater.

The Holiday.
I thought it was the perfect romantic comedy and I saw a lot more in it than a typical romantic comedy. I thought it was amazing.
Some people may have hated the like 4 storylines in the movie, but I liked them because it made it interesting. I just thought it was so sweet and funny. I liked the characters most of all though. A lot of romantic comedies are "sweet and funny" but sometimes the charcaters and the actors just don't cut it.
With Kate Winslet and Jack Black I knew it was gonna be good.
I don't much care for Cameron Diaz, but I LOVED her charcter and I've actually never seen a Jude Law movie (never even heard of him before) but I thought he did excellent in this movie and once again, I loved his character even more.
:]

It isn't a movie that I would typically pick...but I actually really enjoyed it! The movie was funny and a good movie for the entire family. This movie features actors: Robin William, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson
You should see it!

Apocalypto was excellent. It used all indigenous actors and no A list 20 million dollar actors. It was also filmed in a real central american jungle with breathtaking scenery. Everything about this movie was authentic. Not only that, it kept you on the edge of your seat the entire movie. I had to pee 30 minutes into it but I held it for an hour and a half just so i wouldn't miss any of it.

I saw Garden State last night and really liked it. For starters it was nice seeing Zach Braff in something other than Scrubs (which i love) and Natalie Portman is great in the movie. It's a movie about life, it's funny and sweet and real.

Well, this may not be your type of movie, but I just recently saw "Happy Feet" with my neice. I liked it! It had some funny parts in it, some sad parts, plus the penguins were so gosh-darn cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *It also had a good music, a lot of toe-tapping type music. It's animated, like a children's movie, but I think peole of all ages could watch it a laugh just a little*! Hope you find the movie you are looking for!!!
