in my opinion they shouldnt be because they are supposed to be doing a service for god and worshiping. if they were paid they might only do it for the money and that would be a wrong motive. that is also why i dont think priest(wherever you go they are called different but do the same job, overseeing the worship) should get paid either. but thats just my opinion

The LDS religion is made up of volunteers. I belonged to another Christian religion 10+ yrs ago where the minister was paid. I really had a problem with that. Any $ that I give to my church should go to responsible things and to help the church grow and serve. I say no way. God gave us talents and skills to share and in church that would be wrong to accept $ for playing. .

Yes, because they're providing a service to the whole congregation that you wouldn't have otherwise. Playing the organ is an amazing skill (I can play piano but I have no idea what to do with an organ...there are all these extra keyboards and you use your feet! and there are stops to pull out...yeah, no way can I handle all that). So yeah, you should definitely pay an organist, they deserve it!

All depends on what you negotiate with the chrch. I know one lady who volunteers because she loves it. On the other hand, my grandmother is a member of the Organists guild (sorta like a union) and gets paid for her services.

Of course they should receive pay because I am almost sure they eat, sleep, and need shelter like most humans and at some point it is expected that they help pay for their human basic needs with their intangle assets.
