I'd agree with the Kenmore brand from Sears. Last year I got the model that uses 49% less water and energy. I love it. It does not have the agitator in the middle and you can wash double the clothes and save time and money. I wash for 3 boys and myself and have a lot of laundry. Before I had to do a least a load a day to keep up and now I can do a load every other day and get everyones bedding done in one to two loads on the weekends. I can also wash my queen size comforters with no problems at all. HIghly recommend for saving time and conserving water and electricity.

Go look at Bosch Next Series machines. They are without a doubt
the best machine on the market. It's the quietest, most efficient on water and energy, 170 degree sanitary cycle, and a $110 rebate that runs through 12/31/06. Go to a local appliance dealer for your purchase. The salesmen know their stuff, and most local shops service what they sell. You buy something from a big box store, like Home Depot or Lowe's, and you're left to finding a servicer for your units.
Good Luck

Sears store, ask for the Kenmores. They always lasted the longest at my parents home.

CONSUMER REPORTS magazine consistently lists the Kenmore from Sears as the best overall in performance and value. We have a Maytag -- our third in 39 years -- and all three have been marvelous performers. Check out epinions.com and maybe consider subscribing to CONSUMER REPORTS.

Just go to Sears and get a Whirlpool. They last forever and there are pretty cool models these days.

I got one from Home Depot a couple years ago. It was a GE, priced good, and still works fine.
