Can anyone mention at least one multi-racial society where the groups live in harmony?

I suspect they don't.

Whether people want to admit it or not,we are all prejuiced. equality , equal opportunity and diverse training has been introduced over the years to stop discrimination in a multi-racial society some of it successful and lots unsuccessful.we need to put aside this bigotries that is eating us deep and make an effort to see a person for who he is not what he is

Only if there is integration. The problem with most multi-racial societies is that difference races end up building their own 'ghettos' and other races don't want to be around those areas because of it. If all races integrated together, I think there would be less problems with multi-racial societies.

There will always be racism, though. It's human nature.

My believe is that anything can work if one puts their ideals togehter and with a multi race society a new diverse community can be born from it. there can be peace and cooperation if all want to work at it.

Sometimes it may take years to have this form but it can work.
Suspect leaves it open to discussion of course and I have not really been in that complexity. I have an open mind to most ideas and think that if allowed others can as well. It could if one wanted
Happy New Year.

I worked in a northern Mining Camp and there were 52 different nationalities, with their own beliefs and we all got along as we had one goal , and that was our jobs, no one was there for any other reason, now it is a sad state of affairs to say that money was the great equalizer, but in this instance it was because if there was non co-operation there was no pay, , So possibly the thing we should be concentrating on is a plan were every one benefits only if every one does their share,. A pie in the sky dream I know but , I saw it work in a small way.

Yes, they can work.

A perfect example is Toronto, arguable the most multi-cultured city in the world. In Toronto, everyday on the street, in the work office, in the schools, where ever you are, there are races from all over the world, living and working in harmony.

The percentage of minorities has to be reflected in every society. For instance, if a country has 5% of its population who are born outside the country of residence, that has to be reflected in schools, in the workplace, in the police force and also in the armed forces. This will encourage ethnic minorities to integrate into mainstream society as opposed to segregating themselves. As an Englishman born and bred but of Mediterranean parentage, I find the situation in England disgusting, There are wholly Muslim communities in parts of this country who have no intention of integrating with the indigenous peoples of this once great country. In fact, they want to create a Muslim state. This is already taking shape in local franchised businesses such as Subway where they only serve halal meat! It's time for Parliament to grow some balls and say enough is enough. By all means, a little ethnic diversity shows our country as tolerant and accepting of other cultures. However, whole Muslim boroughs? That's just taking the piss!!!

yes, a multi racial society can work as long as we stop dividing ourselves from each other and come to an understanding that yes, we grow up in different places and different skin tones but we all are the same thing, humans.

Well if by society you mean governmented group then not many. I know that as one of Jehovah's Witnesses we see, or at least try to see, beyond skin color. Even then it is only through effort to follow the Bible that this seems possible. Many who become Witnesses have their own bigotries that have to be overcome and for the most part these bigotries are defeated.

I don't wish to be a jerk......But, there is only one race............Human..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The tension people feel can be explained. The ghetto idea....that tells volumes. people congregate in language, color, and geographic familiarity groups. It mostly deals with comfort and economics. At least here in the US it can be seen to reflect this pattern.
Complexity is added with individual circumstances, not in the large groups.
The poor live where they can afford to, The educated where they are close to the amenities they learn to appreciate.
Blah..blah..blah.
Humans have an ignorant streak...if it isn't part of their day to day life they ignore a situation or injustice until it effects them directly. This includes pluralistic societies.
