I am interested in becoming a Mortician. I am soon to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, and I wondered if my degree would be acceptable enough to start a job working in the field.

A bachelor's degree is a great start, but not enough to be a mortician. You must attend mortuary school and get your certificate to embalm. Most probably you will have to go to school for one year and then serve an apprenticeship. If you go to www.mortuaryschools.com, it gives a listing of every mortuary school in every state. This really is a wonderful career. Good luck, email me with any questions!

You could work in the field meaning get a job as a receptionist or in sales in a funeral home, but before you can actually perform mortuary work, you need a special license and training.
