I ask this following the execution of Saddam Hussein. Can people give details on some execution methods and which are the most humane and WHY?

I would think that hanging would be the most humane, if done properly. If done properly, the person dies as soon as he falls because his neck breaks (ick). If the person's neck doesn't break, he'll choke, and that isn't humane!

The lethal injection sounds humane in theory, but recent events have indicated that it isn't humane if the process is botched. And whether or not the procedure is humane if performed correctly depends on whether or not the first injection actually puts the person out, or if it just paralyzes him.

In the United States, there are the following methods used: hanging. electrocution, lethal injection, and firing squad I think only Utah and Nevada allow this one---remember Gary Gilmore?). Lethal injection is probably the most "humane" since you simply go to sleep and not wake up.
Now I get a lot of flak from my fellow conservatives because my hristian ethics tell me that "vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord" and I believe in that. So I am against capital punishment.
In the rest of the world there are beheadings by sword and guillotines, there are public stonings, as well as some pretty barbaric deals such as drawing and quartering (a la Braveheart), drowning, throwing people off buildings (Saddam's specialty), setting people on fire, to name a few.

The quickest death is always the most humane death I suppose, less suffering, better off. Supposedly lethal injection is the best way because the person really doesn't feel it, unless of course as one person said it was botched.

Also the way the person wants to die is also a form of humane execution, I think suddame wanted to die by firing range...course they didn't grant him that..but I suppose a humane way to go is by their decision.

Well it isn't execution, but i suppose a 'decent' capital punishment that doesn't involve death is what they do in saudi arabia, cutting off hands for stealing, rippings arms off for assualt, course i'd hate to get caught in a rape case.....but then hey, they're still alive no?

While none of them is great. The guillotine and hanging is probably the quickest. The guillotine for obvious reasons and the hanging for the quick snap of the 1st vertebrae.
