I don't dislike the Catholic Church, I just don't agree with some things that it stands for. For example I do not think being gay is a sin the Church does. But I'm a Lutheran & the Lutheran Church feels the same way so that's why I no longer go.

Look at the history of the catholic church for starters. They put many protestants to death, refused to allow laity to have Bibles, (Martyrs Mirror).Baptize infants which is totally against scripture Mark 16:16,Call on Mary and the dead Apostles and others to mediate between them and God when scripture clearly tells us there is only one mediator,Jesus,1 Timothy 2:5.Why would I want to Hail Mary when I can Hail Jesus Himself. They have images that they worship which is against the Ten Commandments,we are not to make images of that which is in heaven , the earth beneath , or the sea below , we are not to bow down to them,Exodus 20:4-5. They don't know the meaning of the new birth being ( born again ) John 3:1-3. Is that enough , I could go on.

i disagree with the Church's view of the Pope as infallible (meaning he can't be wrong his decisions) He is an ordinary human capable of mistakes. Any established religion will have man-made rules and views so therefore anything put out by the Church (the Pope's infallibility) that is not in the Bible is simply not "kosher" to God. Also I disagree with the idea that one needs to go to Confession. The point of Jesus was to eliminate the intercessory (i.e. a rabbi/priest) to take our sins before God for forgiveness. All branches of every religion has aspects that one doesn't need to agree with, a person should just recognize the differences between the laws of man and the laws of God.

The Church, for us Protestants, is like a theological roller-coaster. They are so so good on abortion and marriage but they start going all New York Times liberal when Saddam Hussein is executed. If only they showed as much passion for the brewing war of civilizations as they do for abortion. Ultimately, I think the Pope is a force for goodness in the world. But Catholic dogma gets in the way of being an even greater body in the world.

I dislike organized religion, so I guess that means I dislike the Catholic Church. Nothing good comes from organized religion. The only purpose organized religion serves is to acquire power.

Yup. Why, cuz they basically worship the virgin mary. They are critical to an extreme (political too and should a church really be involved that much in politics). There is a hierarchy like the Pope is so much better than its average emebers. Let's not forget that the hierachy is devoted to how big your hat is. HAHA. Like the bigger the hat, the more important you are. Anyhow, why should a man be treated any better than another?? Catholicism doesn't seem to practice what it preaches. Ugh, there are so many reasons.
