I know I HATE that!! I would rather that someone say nothing than say something they will not follow through on.
That being said...sometimes people do say things, and they do mean it but then when it comes down to it, they can't seem to make it happen. I am sure your aunt WANTS to take you out, so she tells you but doesn't follow through.
What you have to remember is that you can only control your own actions and reactions. Try not to judge her or guess why she does this. The only thing you could do the next time she says, "Let's go...." Tell her, "You know I love you and spending time with you and it would be great if we could get together, but why don't you just surprise me sometime because when you tell me that we will do something, I REALLY look forward to it and I get so disappointed when we aren't able to get together. So, when you can, just surprise me and it will be great that we'll be able to spend time together."
OR you can say nothing, and understand that while her heart might be in the right place, don't get your hopes up.

People make promrises all the time and yes they do break them when a adault makes a promise too a kid 9 times out of 10 they do intend too keep them promises but something might come up in the meantimes that makes them forgot...
The next time your aunt makes you a promise and doesnt keep it ask her why she hasnt done so.she may not answer you but then again she might and it might not be the answer you was looking for...
If i was you I'd just except that she might not be able too keep her promises sometimes it doesnt mean that she doesnt like you or anything its just the other situations might be getting in the way of keeping that one promise too you.
You will learn in life that many times promises will be broken but not everyone will break a promise too you....just never forget that...

The main reason for that is because they are making the promise just to be nice, not because they they really meant it. If somebody truly intended to keep a promise, they would find a way to follow through. Granted, sometimes there are other circumstances which prevent them from keeping their word, but if they always promise and never deliver (and don't have a good reason why they didn't), they never meant to do it in the first place.

Ask your aunt that question. Only she can answer why she keeps breaking her promises to you. She might not even realize that she promised something to you.

Ask her to stop making promises she cannot keep. Sometimes life does not always allow us to do the things we would like at the time, however, if it is an on-going thing, although her intentions may be good you are set up for disappointment over and over.

Its something that is easier said than done. When someone makes a promise, they mean well and have every intention on doing what they said they would do without counting the costs and the amount of time involved in doing it.

tell her how frustrating that is for you...talk to her tell her that a promise is a promise... what if you told her and promised her to come home on a certain day and hour and you didn't show up? ask her how she'd feel about that....make her understand the importance of a kept promise if she keeps doing it go find yourself a new ant...show her this writing and tell her she is terrible if she does that to you...good luck

She seems to have an easier time just saying yes to something rather than saying no to the promise. Many people have issues saying no to questions.

You need to talk to your aunt about this. Tell her the error of her ways.
Sometimes things come up, you need to be mature and tell them it was an important event to them and let them take the hint. If not, keep busy, they'll soon won't be able to get your hopes up and destroy your day.
