depends on how far along she is. also depends on how hard the kids are riding her, at a walk, no harm at all it's actually good for her to get a little exercise. but if they are running her(and she is out of shape) to the point of exhaustion I would definitely mention it to the neighbor but in a casual manor. if she is in her last month of pregnancy, hand walking is probably the best form of exercise she can get. if the kids are running her and you mention your concern to the neighbor and he doesnt stop the kids, then you could call your local animal shelter/aspca and see if they can interviene(sp?) good luck.

It is a bad idea to ride a pregnant mare. They are already carrying around extra weight and being riden while pregnant could cause sever back problems for her and make her unrideable in the future. They are little though being 8 and 6, but it could still cause problems for her and being kicked in the belly is not a good idea at all. They could do harm to the baby and it is a definit no no. I would go talk to your neighboor about this and just let him know that you are concerned about his kids riding her and let him know the dangers about it. If they dont stop riding her you can contact your local SPCA and have them pay him a visit. It can most definitly be considered animal abuse or endangerment of an animal and they will give him a warning. Best of luck!

yes, she can, just like normal in the beginning. As it gets later, you should ride her less and not as vigorous and then just kind of stop when she is close (not withing the next day or anything, im talking maybe a few weeks or a month before.) Listen to other peoples advice too, not only mine. I wouldn't want her getting hurt. Use your own judgement, and if you don't feel comfortable riding a pregnant horse, then you don't have to. Better yet, call your vet and ask, he will definitely know.

i could supply up whilst the mare will become unquestionably drained and puffed out whilst no longer doing lots greater beneficial than walk and trot. So, i could supply up now. Having a foal interior will positioned rigidity on all the interior organs, fantastically the coronary heart and lungs so it incredibly is extremely cruel to be using her this late. Many can pass till approximately 5 months mushy workout, yet others will ought to grant up faster, incredibly in simple terms before now.

Well, they shouldn't kick her belly but it won't hurt to ride her in a pasture as long as they aren't running her. With no more that a halter I don't think she'll do anything that is hurting her.

yikes that doesnt sound good.I dont think they should be ridden when they are pregnant, but thats just me,i think i read up that if it gets kicked too hard the baby can have a defect.Thats exactly what happend to my friends pregnant dog, yeah they're different animals, but the same thing could possibly happen
My friends sister got made at the dog so she kicked the puppy that happend to be in the back and when the puppy started to grow they learned she had a messed up rib cage, athridus(sp?),and a deformed tail

it's ok for them to ride her as long as she's no where near her due day.. plus the kids probably don't weigh enough to hurt her. If they are being rough when they kick her it's not good... as far as the neighbor goes... as long as he knows they are riding her I guess it's fine, if anything happens to the foal it's his own fault for letting them ride her too close to her date

Yes, that's fine but they should stop riding her about a month before her estimated due date.

its okay to ride her as long as they trying to jump with her. the vet told me it was good to ride mine so that they had an easier time delivering. something to do with being more active. but when it gets closer to her due date she will let them know she doesn't want to give any more rides.

They can be ridden, and just like humans, it can actually be beneficial until they are too large to comfortably move. They should not ideally be kicking her, but if they are just sitting on her while she grazes or wanders about, it is doing her no harm.
