i bought a 5 port hub for the new computer which isnt what i wanted i thought u could hook a phone line to it and the other ethernet cable to the pc cause i have a speedstream 4100 and i need another for the dining room pc so how can i make the hub work as a dsl modem??

you can not make a hub into a DSL modem, and for more info, you canot install more then 1 DSL modem on a phone line to begin with.

What you want to do is purchase a router or wireless router if you cant run ethernet to your farthest computer and wireless network cards for any computers not connect to the router using ethernet cable.....

You can't make an ethernet hub work as an ADSL modem/router.

You'll be best off connecting one system via the Speedstream's USB port, and the other via the RJ45 port.

You could also share the internet connection from one computer, but it would need to be on all of the time.

You would connect an ethernet cable from the modem to the new router, than connect the computers to the router
