he is 4 months old he is not hunger, tired, wet, we thought it might be colic but were not sure anymore and the doctor is doing tests but I don't think he knows either. here are some symtoms that he has had since birth
non stop crying (we thought colic)
moving his hand by his ear (we thought infection)
soft to watery stolls
spitting up (he has been on every formula theres no more to try)
he is very alert but I think he has somewhat of a dazed look
the doctor has said that he can tell that the baby is in bad pain but no one can pinpoint the pain if anyone has any ideas please let me know.
the doctor said he has GERD and a virus in his blood also

Was he given the Hepatitis B vaccine at birth? If so, it could be a reaction. It's not uncommon (even though the doctor probably wouldn't say so) and it would only have gotten worse at 2 months with the next round of vaxes. I'm not saying this is it, just throwing out a possibility. You can check the CDC's national vaccine-injury site and look up the symptoms and see if they match anything at http://vaers.hhs.gov/

Try Nutramigen and see if that works. When my daughter was young she sort of had the same problem. We thought it was reflux and tried so many formulas (except soy)...even tried Nutramigen, then it was suggested that we use PLAIN Enfamil (no Lipil aka ARA/DHA) and that worked. Turns out it was the added Lipil they now put in most formulas that her system couldn't handle. I think it's hard to find any formula without the Lipil, but see if it works. I'll be praying for him. If he does have GERD he should definately be on medication for it.

I have no idea, but I wish you and your family the best.

I think that it is good that the doctor is still involved and testing. Don't give up. You might also want to look into a Children's Hospital with specialists. ??? Just a thought.

That definitely sounds like GERD and should be treated but of course you want to keep getting tested to make sure, ask for a re-test on the ear infection. 4 months is not too early for teething and that can also affect his ears. Good luck, that is very sad.

Try a chiropractor. Some times colicky babies just need an adjustment. They come out and get a little out of wack and sometimes a chiroprator who deals with babies is the key. It is worth a shot and they don't poke them with needles or hurt them. Just try it, my 3rd son had some of the same symptoms and the chiropractor gave him a few adjustments and it worked like a charm.

Have they checked for bowel obstructions? I know this sounds scary but I have heard about little babies getting a twist in their intestines.
