Did you mean ladybug? Ladybugs are a member of the beetle family and can live for up to a year. They eat mostly plant lice and small insects that live on plants. It may be very hard to keep one as a pet unless you have these conditions. They like it warm (at least room temp) and humid. If you are lucky and catch one, setting up a place to live for it would just involve setting it up on a live plant, keep it warm and moist. Terrariums work great for this. Also if you handle or pet them (they don't like it) they emit a strong odor that somewhat resembles ripe tomatoes or fresh cut grass. They do this as a defense so as deter birds and other predators from eating them.
Good luck.............

its a real pity your mom won't let you have a pet hun. try and speak to her about it. i would rather suggest you get yourself some silk worms - they are fascinating creatures and you can get them to spin all kinds of things for you. there's lots of info on the internet for you about how to care for them. they don't take up much space, easy to care for, and usually a shoe box and a good source of the right leaves, like mulberry or beetroot leaves is all you need.
