Warmth feels good, but it is not as effective as cold packs for pain relief. Please remember the acronym RICE. Rest, ice, compression (wrap it in an Ace bandage) and elevation. However, to get to the core of the problem, I think you need to be seen by a doctor or an athletic trainer. You could have the knee joint slightly out of alignment. A chiropractor could, for example, realign the knee with a skillful adjustment.
Female athletes are more susceptible to knee problems, so look into ways that you can safely strengthen the muscles around the knees.

When the Whether changes parts of your body tend to feel soar or hurt badly. If you have a flat feet arched shoes could also be causing pain and eventually the pain can moved up into your hips and lower back.

Knees are one of the most sensitive and potentially troublesome areas in the body. See a reputable orthopedic surgeon for a proper diagnosis. Anything from height to weight to moving a strange way can cause knee damage.

I went through the same thing when i was younger. It seemed like any strenuous activities i did my knee hurt. I think that it is the fact that you may be growing. My advise is to stay off of it of a few days then see how u feel. hope it gets better.

you should have used ice and iced and elevated your knee instead of heating it up. All you basically did was increase the swelling within it and therefore cause more blood flow to it in addition more pain. Remember RICE - rest, ice, compression and elevate - after an injury. see a doc. as soon as you can.
