THE PRESSURE GAUGE IS USED FOR SETTING THE PRESSURE SWITCH.WITHOUT IT YOUR PUMP MAY FAIL PREMATURELY. THEY ONLY COST A COUPLE BUCKS.I WOULD PUT ONE IN.

It won't prevent the pump from working.

All the gauge does is tell you at what pressure it is pumping.

Most of the switches for the high and low are preset and nothing really has to be done to them. Well, I have to qualify that statement. I never had to reset any I have ever installed.

No, but if you remove it there may come a time you`ll wish you had`nt. It gives you a visual indicator of what pressure your pump comes on and shuts off.(or not)

NO. Take the gage off and put a plug in the hole. You will be all right.
