A woman I heard telling her 8 yr old child that he was stupid...She was the ugliest person I ever saw. My DEFINITION of ugly would be an act of cruelty.

In my opinion ... "ugly" is someone who forgot to be a decent human being. Just because you have money or live at a certain address doesn't make you better than someone else. Some of the most beautiful, decent people I know don't have much of anything in the bank, they drive awful cars, and they work horrible jobs ... but they would bend over backwards to help you when you need it. On the other hand, I know some people who have a ton of money, drive new cars, and work cushy jobs with big paychecks .... and they wouldn't give you the time of day, let alone a helping hand. Which is more beautiful? Which is uglier? You decide.

It depends on what ugly is reffering to. Besides no one person can define ugly because it is your own opinion. It is like a gay guy thinking this other guy is hot when you think he is ugly simply because you are not gay. Or you could be a person that has a bad sense of taste and thinks something, in truth to many people is ugly, when you can think of it as beautiful. The actual meaning of it though is: Displeasing to the eye; unsightly.
Which means displeasing to YOUR eye not anyone elses but YOUR eye

Defining 'ugly' is not limited to physical appearance but also to ones character, personality, etc. It's really hard to unite on the definition as we all see things differently. What's ugly to you may be beautiful to me and vice versa. Lets use Saddam as an example: He was a rather hansdome man in his younger years but his actions and behavior destroyed what was seen as handsome and therefore he was ugly.

Ugliness is the property of physical things that are unappealing to the eye. The term is often used in reference to human appearance. The opposite of ugliness is beauty. Being a matter of subjective aesthetics, one person may think something beautiful that another may find ugly ("Beauty is in the eye of the beholder").

Ugly is not on the outside. (If it were, then I would be defined as ugly.) Ugly is on the inside. (hopefully not me) Ugly is some one that is always evil or mean to others. They spend their time trying to make others miserable. THAT is ugly.

I have seen completely visually appealing individuals who were so arrogant and vain..as well as concieted that I could feel a sour tinge in the back of my spine after noticing..not that I'm overly observant....how absolutely ugly they were on the inside. This comes from a not so ugly person who sees EVERYTHING through a minds eye as well as a precise pair of brown factory installed headlights..Not boobs ya freaks....EYEBALLS........

Many views on this and many opinions, but Webster defines it as, "1. unattractive: lacking appealing physical features, especially facial ones
2. angry: characterized by anger or hostility
an ugly mood

3. potentially violent: threatening or involving violence
Things were turning ugly.

4. unpleasant: generally unpleasant
a dull ugly afternoon

5. Southern U.S. ill-mannered: discourteous or rude"

ugliness comes from inside. If your character is ugly then that is ugly to me.
