When I was twelve, two of my best friends moved away at the same time. It stunk. One of those friends, I hardly ever talk to anymore. The other is still my best friend.

You know what the difference is? My still-friend and I chatted on the phone all the time, got ourselves email accounts so that we could write to each other, IMed each other a lot, and took turns visiting each other for like a week each year, in the summer or over spring break.

And you know what's cool? After six years living hundreds of miles apart, now we go to college, just by luck, in the same city, so we get to hang out like every other weekend. It's really cool.

So don't worry at all. It takes effort to keep in touch, but it's totally worth it.

Well don't overwhelm yourself because you two can still remain being the best of friends. Chat online, write letters, email, talk on the phone and make plans to spend certain vacations together. Be strong and soon you will accept the fact that she doesn't live near as before but just remain best friends and making time for each other will mend everything.

You can't get over her. Just accept that you are very close to her and know that you always will be - no matter how far apart you are. Live day by day and keep her informed of everything going on in your life via e-mail, texting, phones, web cams, whatever. One day you will both be adults and you may find that you are still the best of friends. Who knows, you might even live near each other again in the future. Wouldn't that be fantastic!
