Best Actor: Russell Crowe (A Beautiful Mind)
Best Actress: Nicole Kidman (Moulin Rouge)

Denzel was great in Glory, Malcom X, Philedelphia, and much more. But he even wasn't worth a nomination for best actor that year. His character in Training Day was so complex and just an average day villian. Halle Berry is not a good actress. She's so into her roles that she forgets what the character is all about and that just deserves her to never star in another movie. But Russel Crowe and Nicole Kidman played their roles best out of everyone else whom was nominated that year. They played their roles perfectally and added so much drama to their characters. They truly deserved it.

I don't think they were wrong for giving them Oscars but I agree that maybe they should've won for other roles. I thought Denzel was great in "Training Day" but I've thought some of his other work was even better. And when Nicole Kidman won for "The Hours", I didn't agree with that, although I do think she deserves an Oscar for other roles, such as "Moulin Rouge."

Denzel Washington should have won for Malcolm X, but instead they gave it to Al Pacino.
I can go down the list of how they've been cheating him out of an award for years.

Halle Berry won cause there weren't any other women worth giving it to, plus, that was her big role.

It was the most ignorant, P.C., thing the academy could have ever done. They were given the awards not because they deserved them, but because the academy wanted to do something "controversial" and "headling." The funny thing is that since then, neither actor has done anything worth noting and in fact, Halle Berry's have tanked. I guess the academy can try as hard as possible to be P.C., but eventually the public will see through it.

The Oscars is not about who is the best. It is like voting for Prom Queen. How did Julia Roberts win for Erin Brockobitch or Tommy Lee Jones for the Fugitive? Gimme a break.

the first time i ever hated the oscars was 2000.

5 major oscars went to a movie that deserved nothing at all "American Beauty" whats that other reward? rasberry's? give them 10,000 of those.

Green Mile and nearly anything else that year should have beaten it.

Michael Clark Duncan is a actor long over due for at least 1 oscar Green Mile got robbed of its glory.

I agree that Denzel is a great actor but Halle is just eye-candy imo.
