Don't do any harsh laxatives.

Softners help. Metamucil and Citrucel

Remember, nothing harsh. Drink more water too!

I have not but I can tell you that it's probably not a good idea for you to take them. If your having Constipation then these will help

STEP 1: Drink plenty of water. During pregnancy, you should drink 8 to 10 8-ounce glasses of water a day. Fruit juice will also help to keep your digestive track moving, but don't eliminate water from your diet.
STEP 2: Eat a diet high in fiber. Make sure you include cereals and whole grain breads as well as fresh fruits and vegetables.
STEP 3: Eat prunes, or drink prune juice. Prunes are a natural laxative and can easily be added to your daily diet. Eat a few prunes every morning, or have a glass of prune juice along with your breakfast.
STEP 4: Exercise. Walking, swimming and yoga are excellent at keeping your digestive track moving.
STEP 5: Take a natural over-the-counter laxative. If attempts to stay regular with diet and exercise don't work, natural laxatives that are not absorbed into your system are available over the counter. Consult your doctor or pharmacist on products that are best for you.

Establish an eating routine. Eat your high fiber foods or prunes first thing in the morning so that your digestive system will have the whole day to work.
Stay away from mineral oil as a laxative. It may prevent nutrients from being absorbed by your body.
Stay away from castor oil as a laxative. Castor oil can cause premature uterine contractions.
Consult your doctor before starting any exercise routines.

I specifically asked my Dr this same question early in my pregnancy and they said absolutly not...you cannot take a laxative. You CAN take a stool softener. But not a laxative. And as far as stool softeners go, they will still recommend that you just eat more bran, more fruits, blah blah blah:).

Laxatives cannot be taken during pregnancy. If there's problems with constipation, try anything that's high in fiber. laxatives causes preterm labour. I know this for sure! Trust me!!!!!!!!! Don't take it.

Call your doctor and see if it's safe! Don't do anything without checking with your doctor.
Laxatives deplete your body of electrolytes among other things;). This depletion of electrolytes can lead to vitamin/mineral deficiencies and dehydration; BOTH very dangerous for an unborn child and his/her mother!
Try prune juice or drinking a HUGE glass of water. Or a ton of fruit.
Good luck. I know irregularity is VERY uncomfortable. I hope you find some relief but please check with your doctor before you take ANY kind of medication:)

Just use a glycerin suppository. For one thing it is safer as almost none is absorbed into the bloodstream. And for another thing they work right away (within 30 minutes) so you aren't as likely to have an accident.

I use the infant dosage, it is enough for me.
