Xbox has a lot of support on their website. Check them out. I did a search and in just a couple of seconds I found this page.

just connect the 360 to the router using the ethernet cable.

If you have an active internet connection through your laptop then yes you use an ethernet cable.Plug it through the back or through a modem box.

plug the cat10 line in the router if you have one...if not you have to buy either a router or a wireless antenna for the 360, both with set you back around $100
