Freddy's voice is very melodotic and very strong. Yet smooth and soulful.

Ray's voice is very raspy and gargley. Not smooth at all but very soulful.

I don't see much between the 2 to compare.
(then again, now you've got me thinking....hmmm....)

Ray Charles definitely. I love Queen but there's nothing particularly striking about Freddie Mercury's voice. I prefer Queen's genre though.

It's hard to say because they are so different. I like them both, but if I were to pick I would say Ray Charles. He's got that raspy bluesy voice. Freddie Mercury's voice is GREAT though. Especially when he's singing/yelling! I love it.

I like ray charles, because its inspirational, and i also seen ray too. i went to amazon, and i listened to some ray audio clips. it was the origianl motion picture soundtrack of Ray. a film by tayler hackford
