This sounds very familar to me. I have been having these same problems for over 10 years now, since I was 14. Doctors kept saying that I was okay, but the symptoms kept coming and the period stayed irregular. Until finally, the week before last I was finally diagnosed with P.C.O.S. Go to www.webmd.com and search polycystic ovary syndrome, see if you might have any of the other symptoms.

But to answer the question, it depends on the woman if you can get pregnant on your period or not. Typically most women can not, but I know the only time my mother could get pregnant was right at the end of her period. So I just think it has to with the individual. And it'll take at least a month after your last intercourse to tell for sure if you are pregnant or not.

Either way I suggest you look into the irregular period thing more, doctors over look things sometimes. They did with me for 10 years. And irregular periods if not taken care of can cause ovarian or uterine cancer.

I hope I've helped. Good luck.

Usually the period signifies that 14 days ago your ovary popped out an egg and its since exitted your body. This is rather constant and based on hormones that flucuate levels. There is however a chance that you may ovulate (spit out an egg very soon after. Sperm can live for up to 3-4 days inside of you. All in all its a timetable type problem. The chances are very low that you can get pregnant but they still exist.

ok, number one, i dont want to sound rude but the *nurse* who first answered is completely wrong, yes u can get pregant while on your period, the sperm can sometimes last 5 to 7 days inside of you, by then you are already restarting the process and your eggs may still be fertilized, this is not *as* rare as most people say but yes it is something that does not happen too often, after having sex you should wait a couple of weeks to tell if you are pregnant, also the best time to get pregnant, or u r most fertile, is one week after your period, i really hope this helps and i really wish you the best with all of this

its very unlikely . you usually will get pregnant 14 days after you period ends . thats when you ovulate for about 2 to 3 days. if you are having problems why dont you go somewhere like walgreens and buy a ovulation kits. its will help you to figure out when your ovulating and you can get pregnant sooner. also it takes up to two weeks after missing your period before you have enough of the chemical that shows that your pregnant to show up on the pregnancy test. also you need to take the test right when you wake up and pee thats when you have the most hormones in your pee. if you dont get pregnant in the next six months then why dont you try getting hormone injections.

Yes you can get pregnant on your period. The period is to get the egg out of your womb ready to release another one but sometimes one is releases too early and other times the egg doesnt go as soon as you start your period. When trying for a baby its hard to say when you will know you should see your doctor as your periods are irregular so it will be a lot harder for to know when you are.

It's extremely rare to get pregnant while on your period, as your uterus is getting rid on everything, including any eggs, fertilized or unfertilized. I'd definitely get the ovulation test!

It is possible. Since you aren't regular it is hard telling when you ovulated or will ovulate. I would say test every couple of weeks. Call your Dr they can give you better answers then people on the Internet.

they told us in health class that it is rare but can happen, so to make sure we always use birth control if you're not trying to get pregnant.

use ovulation tests to determine when you are ovulating, and that is the time to have sex and try to conceive. your doctor can make sure that your body is healthy and that there aren't any reasons why you can't conceive.
