Like everyone said you can be with both, you can stand right there and watch the delivery from either end of the table you choose. I held my wife's leg I didn't do much but I was there for her, and I say the whole thing. What a feeling it is when the baby finally comes out after all your wife's labor, you really feel for her. They had a baby bed right in the delivery room so all the tests and stuff were done right there.

I highly recommend you go with your mother to be to lamaz class if it's your first. Yes it seems stupid to do the breathing and massages with your wife but I actually lernt alot about pregnancy, and what is going to happen during delivery that I didn't know and was good info, stuff dads need to know

I want to be at the birth and see both. Often the hospital takes the baby off for tests and the father should go with the child. The mother is mature enough to be alone for a while but the newborn child is not. The father should go with the child and have some father-baby bonding time. (My wife is due in January and we already discussed this.)

Well, now days, since most fathers are in the delivery room, they see them both at the same time, so it's not really an issue.

If possible be in the room with both of you, but my husband says that he would want to see me first and make sure I was alright and then the baby. Make sure he is in the delivery room and you will not have to worry about who he would choose to see first.

In the case of my Daughter delivering both of my Grandchildren(approx 2 1/2yrs apart) by C-section,my Son in Law was there BOTH times right at her head and saw the babies WITH my Daughter at the same time she saw them. He said he would NOT have missed that moment of sharing with my Daughter for anything,in fact, they were lucky enough to have someone take pictures of the very first time they laid eyes on BOTH the babies and I wouldn't take a zillion dollars for the copies I have of those FIRST moments, those are PRICELESS.

well my experiance was to be with child. Sorry know seems wrong answer, I loved my wife, but she can take care of herself. Baby cannot. alot of women feel men spend too much time attention with baby than wife!! Why ???? If father cares for the child takes some burden off mother to care for herself. Of course we love "mom" but baby is new and needs love and care too!! Post natal is difficult to understand!! If father spends time with child then he is ignoring!! If father pays attention to mom then he is not helping out!! It is hard for both new parents. don't forget to set time aside to talk, If dont lose all!!!!!!!!!

nowadays, you'd see both at the same time because you'd be in the delivery room
