What are the odds of an NFL number one seed going to the Super Bowl?

I read an artical last week saying that 50% of the teams that get homefield advantage never make the Superbowl. They even listed what teams and when. There have been years in which both the AFC and NFC winners never made it to the Superbowl in the same season.
