I cant type sorry. Ok It's a product called Zrock, I have used it in the past. (When I was 12) and the "Zrock" would absorb amonia like the stuff for the filter but it just sat at the bottom of the tank till it changed from a white/eggshell color to black. I had just set up a small 15 gallon tank and cant find Zrock any where. I'd use the amonia nuteralizer in my filter but it is too small to have it fit (it's a cascade 150) and I want to leave the bio filkter and charcole filter in. any Ideas? Than'X

I do water changes about 1 a week, and take about 2 gal out. The PH, is about 7.0-7.5 Nitrite and Nitrate are 0. But I did hae an amonia problem a while ago. it went nuts and I lost all but 2 catfish.
I have a Coy catfish and a sucker fish, 3 white mollys(F) and 1 spotted (M) they seem happy I feed them 2 times a day and have a "lunerLight" in the hood. the light is on a timer to go on about 10 Am and turns off about 8 it is next to a window but The sun doesnt come in much.

There are lots of chemicals out there that claim to do various things like remove ammonia, break down dead plant matter, ect. I have not once heard a good thing about these products from people who have used them. I know several people who have tried these types of chemicals and every single person has either had the result of cloudy water, or dead fish, and most of the time both. The best way to remove ammonia is through the nitrogen cycle. Google "nitrogen cycle" and read up on it. If you have fish in a tank that does not have an established cycle, you need to change water every day until ammonia, nitrite are zero, and nitrates are 10-20 ppm.

You are looking for zeolite medium. It can be purchased where you buy aquarium carbon. It is a great "sponge" for ammonia build up, but your will need to change it out every two weeks. Try to avoid ammonia, and the nuisance abonia build up, by doing regular, 20% water changes and minibize your feeding.
