Yes, but it isn't likely, this mostly because the games where you need the right team to win -- they are one the road.
First, the Chiefs must beat Jacksonville. Then, in addition to Pittsburgh and New England also coming through for them, they'll count on San Francisco pulling off an upset of the Broncos in Denver. Unlike the discontented Jaguars and Chiefs, the Broncos hold their playoff chances in their hands because all they have to do is win.
To recap it is like this:
Pittsburgh @ Cincy
New England @ Tennessee
San Francisco @ Denver
So it any of the home teams win (Cincy, Tennessee, or Denver) then the chiefs will be watching the playoffs on TV.
(Edited after this weeks games)
The Chiefs have has much a chance of getting into the playoffs as the Lions winning this week... OH WAIT!!
Just goes to show you ANTYTHING can happen in the NFL. Can't believe all those teams (especially the 49ers) all won on the road like that. I think this is the first time I've seen a team get in where they needed 3 other teams (all on the road) to win.
Now there are people saying the Chiefs can esaily upset the Colts due to the lack of run defense by the Colts.

yes, they are technically still eligible for the playoffs. I broke it down on the phone earlier thusly:
First we (KC) have to win and beat Jacksonville (a good team in the same stupid not gonna make the playoffs spot that we are.) we're at home, so there's a good chance.
next, Denver has to lose.
Then, the two other teams that are still alive for the last wild-card spot - cincinnati and tenessee - have to either lose, or tie. (because tying games happens a lot, I'm glad that's specified.)
Then Saddam Hussain has to arise from the dead, say "gosh, I'm filled with love for the world!" and go out and do good things.
After that, Gerald Ford will suddenly have become relevant, enough so people can justifiably write a book about him.
Finally, there are the pigs. They don't have to FLY, exactly, just, um... hover a little.
So recapping; KC has to win, Denver has to lose, cincy/ten have to lose or tie, hell has to freeze over and pigs have to fly (hey, that rhymes!)
oh, well. We'll probably win tomorrow, finish 9-7 and wind up yet again being the best team to not make the playoffs. (I'm still bitter about last year.)
edited right after the broncos loss:
Pigs are flying. Over my head, as we speak. I can hear them oinking... they are so cute!
I can't believe I was wrong - they made it! I have been a nervous wreck all day.

Ummm... HELL NO!!!!
I am a Chiefs fan thru and thru but I and the rest of the greater KC area is getting sick and tired of watching there playoff hopes go down the drain. I'm sick of coming to the end of every season and saying "if these teams lose we're in..." Oh My God can we get thru a season where we are efficient enough throughout the season to make it in the post season without depending on any other teams to get us there? My hope is that Carl P is fired and that Herm Edwards makes some necessary adjustments.
And that's all I have to say about that!!!

No they do no longer. they have a promising youthful protection yet their offense isn't working. Their particular communities is under trouble-free and that they are ranked among the backside in virtually each and every obtainable offensive class. They nevertheless might desire to locate a able working back, tight end and bolster that offensive line because of the fact in basic terms a large address isn't sufficient for 4 others lineman. noticeably of their branch with the Broncos, Chargers and Raiders. the only team i might desire to be sure suitable now giving the Chargers difficulty is in step with threat the Raiders. They ultimately have been given rid of that poor QB and characteristic a respectable one with all that ridiculous offensive expertise they have. The Broncs are a special 2d in the back of the Raiders and there is merely no room for the Chiefs in that image. desire this cleared it up.

They can get a playoff berth with a win combined with a Denver loss combined with losses or ties by Tennesee and Cincinnati.

They can but it is unlikely. It would take Cincy, Denver, and Tenn all losing and then KC would have to win.
