I have not seen any previous entries about this issue so I am not sure exactly what the initial problem is but when it comes to mice males should be separated, even if they are from the same litter. They wont necessarily kill each other but they will often fight. Females are extremely territorial too, but only usually after they have a litter. Vanilla often confuses rodents but it wont last for long, if they are fighting a lot then they need more space. Maybe those cages with tunnel attachments so they can all have personal space?

I have tried this when introducing mice, and it didn't work. I even gently wiped the mice with diluted vanilla essence and no good.
I will also say that I was watching television the other night and saw my mice wrestling. On closer inspection, there was a girl in with my boy and they weren't wrestling. Check closely and make sure they're both the same sex. And I agree, boys tend not to live well together.

I hate to tell you this, but I've work with small animals for 6 years and the fact of the matter is, if they are male mice, they are fighting.
It might seem like nothing for right now, but sooner than later, there will be blood. Mice seems to go after the tail and the back bottom area when they fight. I've seen it tons of times.
My advice: Seperate them. If you just refuse to do that, get them a bigger house with lots of tunnels. Even then, they will still fight.

I didn't see what your problem was exactly, but if your mice are fighting make sure they aren't males. Males can not live together. They will fight and eventually one will die. The most dominant male will kill any male mouse that has reached maturity. When male and female are together their mating is very noisy and sounds like they are fighting. Quite often the female will try to get away from the male so it looks like they are fighting as well.
