Name it after someone or something from one of your favorite songs that you aspire to learn...
e.g. Bootylicious, Tambourine Man, Apples and Bananas
After a favorite artist, but add a twist...
e.g. Hendrixorama, Bobby DMan, Stereolabster
Something fun that when you mess up you'll want to exclaim "Damn it __________!
(My guitar is a Martin and I named him Juan Marteen because it's fun to exclaim and I like playing flamenco musica)

Don't matter Even if you had Jimi Hendix's guitar, amp, pics, pedals and the same fugging acid he dropped; do you seriously think you could play like him? Sorry to blow ya dreams up but Jimi could out pick you on a fawking broomstick!

Give it an old Grandma name: Mildred, or Pearl, or Minerva. Like Lucille but older and much cooler.

Orpheus? 'Arp? Mellow? Polly (as in polychord)? Sirene? Troub (as in troubadore)? But is it male or female, acoustic or electric, classic or jazz or merely twang? Perhaps you need to get to know it first, and then it will tell you its name - most things do, in time, I find.
