I live in Mississippi and it's not as bad as you make it sound. The Black people are no worse than the White people. You have criminal scum in all races who make it worse for everyone they come in contact with.

As for jobs, if you qualify, you most likely get the job. The larger cities like Jackson, Vicksburg, Hattiesburg, Meridian, and along the coast have the better jobs. Gambling jobs pay real well.

Demographically, there are more Black people in Mississippi, but that's just life. There are more Hispanics in Texas and more Asians in California, I suppose. People usually migrate where the jobs are and where their own race is located to a level that they can purchase the foods, music, and clothes they are use to in their particular culture. I have noticed more Hispanics in the last ten years.

Radical Black folk have their place in society. God forbid we go back into the times like it was in the 1960s in Mississippi. If someone doesn't stand up and make a fighting stance, it would occur again. I am sure of this.

Yes. There is racism in Mississippi. From hard core Neo Nazi groups to the softer racism of prefering to live in all White neighborhoods. Some stores charge higher prices to keep the economically challenged out, too. There is racism practiced all over the planet in many ways.

Mississippi still suffers from the racist stigma it had cultivated during the early 1900s. Ignorance ran rampant with the crimes against the undesirables like Catholics, Blacks, Jews, and anyone who dared to disagree with the Klan-backed government.

I remember the Whites Only signs as a child. I asked my father why that was and he told me that is just how it is in Mississippi. He was from Michigan and was hated by the local Klansmen. They accused us of being from New York and they still do. I think that is so funny, too.

The only thing I don't like about Mississippi is that it is so hot in the summer. With the humidity and the heat, you can die out there in the sun in no time. It's not uncommon to hear of young men dying during the late summer football practices or working in the outdoors doing strenuous labor. I would like to move to Canada in the summer and move back to Mississippi after November. Or maybe go north to New York during the summer. I've been accused of being from New York my whole life and as a child asked how I liked the weather down south. I was born in Jackson, MS and raised in Mississippi and these odd questions from the rural folk was perplexing when I was nine years old.

Oh, the ignorance of the mind that won't open for fear of change.

Because we are considered a poor state, we get price breaks on products sold nation wide. A truck that I can buy for $20,000 in Mississippi would cost $35,000 in California, I bet.

Criolla80, I brought no slave to Mississippi.

I usually go to Mississippi at least three times a year, I love it, and do not a problem with the Blacks and Whites. I go to Brookhaven, Mississippi. I do not know what City you are referring to, because it is a big State with many cities. I do not see Whites not having jobs because of Blacks, after all, most things there are owned by Whites. Would you list a few Towns where this problem is occurring?

I love the casinos in Mississippi, my husband and I go 2 or 3 times a year and have always been treated very well by Blacks as well as whites, It's a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there only because of the bad weather that occurs there.

really, I'm sorry to hear that as a black I don't know what to say. I really wish the best for you. I also like Mississippi when I do come to visit but I didn't know that it was almost still racially motivated maybe you could speak up and let someone outside of Mississippi know that things aren't fair. Please do that. You can't not stand the black people they're not the ones that are going by government rules it's the government remember that

I think if you feel this way then you should leave. It is unfortunate that you cannot find it within yourself to consider the feelings of the African American Population in Mississippi. Their ancestors were victims of Slavery and other indecencies. Keep in mind that some of the hostility they have could be to the attitude you have currently.

Remember, you brought the blacks there. Now you must live with them.

Oh well what would you have the universe do for you. Try a little love and tenderness and this may fix the problem.
