If the creators of the music wish to freely share it with the public, so be it. Their artistic works are their property, and they can do with them whatever they wish. However, it should be illegal (it already is immoral) to violate copyright laws by STEALING from the creators of the music by illegitimately downloading it.
If you went to the trouble of composing, playing, and recording a song, would you want someone to STEAL it from you? "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

it is illegal but then agin it should not b/c think of it from another point of view
these peopel buy the music and they share it with others. the music now belongs to the purchaser and now they can do whatever they want with it. It is like owning ahouse. What if someone said that it was illegal to rent it. That would not be fair to them But seeing it in your view, your telling your self that it belongs to you and you can do whatever you want.

Yes because the creators of the music get no royalties. It sucks for them.

Yeah. If people wanted to sing for free they'd do it in church or do free shows. Or just give out their CD's for free. I mean would you do your job for free? It doesn't mean many people will stop downloading their music though.

well I reckon it should be illegal because it's not fear to the musician..
but I reckon they shouldn't sell CD as expensive as $25 per CD.. maybe it should be $10 per CD
(it's Australian price)
