My best friend is pretty freaked out. She is 17 and had sex for the first time. No protection was used. She said that he accidentally "got some in her." she told me she took the morning after pill within 24 hours, and she said it was around the time she was supposed to get her period, but she is not always regular because she is very active. she is really worried, so because it seems so unlikely to me that it is even a possibility, my question is how likely is it that she will get pregnant?

If she took the morning after pill the odds are very small that she is pregnant. The pill reduces your odds of conception by 75%... a single act of unprotected intercourse has a hugely varying chance of getting you pregnant, depending on your own personal fertility and where in your cycle you are. I can guarantee that the possibility is less than 1 in 20. (1 in 5 for unprotected intercourse around ovulation, and knocking off 75% of that.)

Its not very likely that she is pregnant because she took to the plan b pill which affects her period for that month and if she doesnt get her period within 5 days she should take a pregnancy test and if its negitive or not she should go to the doctor no matter what because thats the only way she will know for sure and she should deffinitly keep condoms in her purse

When this happened to me, I took the morning after pill the very next morning. My period came the following day. My Dr had said that the pill will cause my period to come, and if it doesn't within a few days, then I should go back to get a preg test. So she should relax(as stress makes your period late), and know that she has done all that she could. Wait a few days. If it doesn't come, then go to the dr.

The morning after pill fairly effective, and if it was far into her cycle, then she shouldn't have been ovulating, but it's hard to say if she isn't regular. If her period is late, and it's been 3 or more weeks since she had sex, she can try a home pregnancy test if she is worried about it.

Exact odds, hard to tell. I would say in all likelihood she is not pregnant but she should get a pregnancy test just to be sure if she needs some peace of mind. I certainly hope that she has learned her lesson though and will use protection from here on out!

I am not an expert or anything but I know some of my friends that have taken the morning after pill and they were fine. Tell your friend not to worry unless she misses her period all together.

I'd give her a decent not pregnant. However I'd say in the next week it might be a good idea to take a pregnancy test. Or she could just wait for her period and if it doesn't show up, then take a test.

If she took the morning after pill she will be fine. Tell your friend to go get on birth control so she won't have to worry. A much smarter choice would be condoms!!

its extremely unlikely that she is pregnant because she took the morning after pill like she was supposed too. also the morning after pill should cause her to start her period.
