I have to say, I am surprised/taken aback by the kind, thoughtful responses that I often see on this site. (not always, of course, but a lot) Makes you feel more optimistic about people. Anybody else feel the same way?

Yeah. I started out having people make nasty comments on some of my questions and e-mail me to let me know how they felt. Which is o.k. And then I had a guy e-mail me at Christmas because of an answer to a question that I had answered. He was really concerned and it really touched me. There are some really sweet people on here. And I think its because of the anonimity on here. You can be the person you really are instead of the facade that you put on for the world. Really good question.

like any site on the web like answers you get your kind and helpful answers (most of the time) but then there are a sad few who are either just out to earn points and not able or willing to help anyone.
this could be because those who play games either are too young and so do not have the wealkth of knowledge and wisdom that we get with age, or may be they simply do not have the mental capacity to be able to give honest constructive answers.

and yes when you get a great response that is helpful it can be uplifting but it is equaly uplifting to give an honest answer that will actually help someone.
and yes when things go well it can be a surprise and it depends on what the subject is of the questions as to how optimistic it is or can be.

just my opinion.

I have gotten some really rude answers on this site but it is nice when someone takes you serious and offers real advice. What makes me happy though is when you are out and about and say you are 70 cents short in a check out line and the person behind you offers to pay it. That happened to me before Christmas. It is usually the other way around. My husband and I are the "Pay it forward" types. When a man ran out of gas before Christmas we put $25 in his tank. He was a complete stranger. We just told him Merry Christmas. So, more than anything, helping others is what makes me feel good. Never forget that good people are out there. We just have to watch for them. Take care.

That is what I like the most about this site instead of normally just searching on google and stuff. Every one has to admit that this not only fun to ask and/or answer. I think this site gives us real people the opportunity to give real expertise and practical advice.

So I am not surprised by the kindness of the folks on here but the type of atmosphere that Y!Answers have created. It just makes you be genuine and nice.

Yay for us!

Yes! Some people are very cute. The most important thing is that they are honest. That's what I think because no one knows their identity, so they just write whatever they feel. That's what I do and yes some of the responses make me optimistic.

I think the points system keep some of this trolling at bay. It's kinda hard to open like 5 screens on here and just troll away, as some of us did on the old discussion boards.

So, I guess I wasted that money on a system with 2 gigs of ram, a dual-core processor, and the fiber internet.

I've heard some psychologists are encouraging online IMs and dating because you don't have to worry about physical appearance and looking the other person in the face, in the eyes - you just get the message through.

Guess most people ARE nice at heart ^_^V

From time to time yes. But it's always easier to be nice to people when you aren't face to face with them. I am more surprised when I see genuine thoughtfulness in everyday life.

Some people would rather be "funny" and decide not to age their age. Most of us are here to help you answer the questions you need answered. That's right, we're here to help you!
