avast anti-virus does what it says, searches and deletes viruses, as trojan horses are viruses, avast will find most of them. you will need a seperate program(s) to find and delete spyware and adware. some programs that i use are: spybot search & destroy and AdAware SE Personal, which are both downloadable, for free, at www.download.com

Avast is anti virus Only you prob be surprised how much spy ware you find on PC try ad block plus if you have firefox and if you don't have firefox consider switching its a great browser! and with ad block plus you don't have to do anything it takes care of self then theres the spy ware removers try ccleaner it works great heres the links check them out All are free

No, Avast is strictly antivirus. I run Avast, but I also use SpyBot and Ad-Aware to get the spyware, trojans, and that kind of junk. Unfortunately, it takes all of them to keep this stuff out of our computers! You can get both free from download.com

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.
besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.
