You are most likely correct about it being a bartholin cyst. Do not waste any time going to your doctor. I'm telling you from personal experience that the worse it gets the more painful it is when they lance it open. They will try you out at antibiotics first but that didn't work with the case I know of. Waiting will just make it get bigger. Don't have any sex right now either. I just witnessed one the size of a golf ball being lanced. The girl was very very uncomfortable during the procedure so it's not anything nice. Please get treated right away. Take care

I had the same thing happen to me while I was pregnant and thought I was a freak of nature, I never found out what was wrong or what caused it. It seemed to only appear after having sex, and with me it was both labias.
But like the another lady said here, you have increased blood flow and extra sensitivity, which can make them swell.
It is very common for mucous membranes and sex organs to become swollen during pregnancy. The inside of your vagina happens to be a combo of the two. Add a pending orgasm, which engorges the area with blood, and it's no wonder things get a little snug and sensitive down there! All women have different levels of engorgement and sensitivity, but it sounds like you are within the "realm of normality." (FYI- the "realm" is very, very big!)
If you continue to experience discomfort during intercourse, you and your husband may want to consider pleasuring each other orally or manually. Most girlfriends agree that pregnancy orgasms can be the best of your life. Don't miss out! Since the vaginal area is so sensitive, many women experience orgasms much more quickly and more often.
If the "snugness" you feel is constant (not just during arousal) you should consult your doctor.

Boy can I relate!! I am 37W4D, and its So hot in my city right now. My feet are swelling so bad I don't have ankles anymore I have Cankles( where my calves go straight down--no ankles in sight) LOL But all my Dr. said was to try to elevate my feet throughout the day, take rests, watch my salt/sodium intake, Drink LOTS of water! Not drinking enought water causes you to swell. He said to remember I am sweating for 2 so I need to drink water for 2. Your urine should be almost clear in color, if its not you're not drinking enough water. Avoid caffeine, that causes dehydration too which = swelling. I also have the broken capillaries..YUCK! As far as your back hurting..It could be your sciatic (Sp?) nerve, that would cause sharp pains or numbing sensation down 1 of your legs, just make sure your urine stays clear to light in color or you could have a kidney/bladder infection. Disability: As far as taking you off work..BE Careful I don't know about your state laws, But in California, they just passed the new law that your employer only has to hold your position for a short amount of time.(They can actually fire you/let you go) So if you go off early on your leave, then have the baby and stay the usual 6-8 weeks of maternity leave you may not have a job to return to. Look into the laws in your state, to be safe. Inducing: Most Dr.s/ insurances will NOT induce just because you are tired of being pregnant, or you have normal pregnancy complaints. Only if you are 10 days past your due date, or you have a condition that could be of harm to you or the baby.Hope that helps! Good luck!

After the birth of my 2nd child, naturally and no episiotomy, I had a hematoma on the inside of my labia. It looked like a wierd little balloon thing. It took about 2 weeks to go away. Taking Arnica supplements for bruising REALLY helped.

you may have a Bartholin's cyst. get it treated before it becomes an abscess. however, in most cases the effective treatment is surgical removal. sometimes it may regress with oral drugs. this is common during pregnancy. good luck.

This is normal it is due to increased blood flow, water retention and pressure from the baby, it will go back to normal a few days after delivery.
