Fairly certain there's school. My dad works in the school system where we live and if there's a day off for whatever reason he's usually informed as soon as they know.

Federal employees get the day off for a National Day of Mourning. Schools are under state and local government. Our district doesn't go back until Jan. 8 anyway, so call your school district to check when school goes back in your area.

What kind of schools do you kids all go to? In the UK, it's still the Christmas holidays right until January 8th. I've never heard of a school going back the day after New Year.

HOPE I DON'T HAVE TO WORK THAT DAY EITHER. YOU PROBABLY HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF NOT GOING THAN I DO.
