Not very often. Unless I'm talking to my son because I always think he needs more explanation and then he just mentally smacks me upside the head and says "I get it Mom, I'm not stupid"

It all depends on where you were brought up I think. I was brought up in England till I was about 6 years old and then we moved to Australia. My parents are Scottish and the word
" kinda" was never used. It was always "kind of " to describe something. The same as " gonna " is just " going to" abbreviated.

I only use that word in conversation when refering to setting someones shoes on fire.
They kinda stunk anyways, so it is like you kinda owe me a beer or another kinda beverage for - you know, kinda helping you out.
