1) Chill with an ice cube and scrape off what you can. Blot with citrus solvent. Or apply a teaspoon of extra-strength BenGay to gum, heat it with a hair dryer, and pick off residue with polyethlene (not PVC or Saran) food wrap. Then blot area with
detergent solution and rinse with warm water. Don't use peanut butter to remove; it may compound the problem.
2) Chewing Gum: If solid, apply commercial aerosol gum freeze (ice cubes in a plastic bag will work sometimes) until the gum is brittle. Break into pieces and vacuum. Apply dry-cleaning solvent to residue.

I've used ice and then a little soap for clothes or carpet cleaner to pull it off, but it takes patience! That vinegar is a good idea,i know gum dissolves in something acidic like soda.

the gum, or the dye from the gum. if just the gum, use alchohol to remove it, but if the dye, you may have to use a color-fast, but weak, bleach and water solution. test a small spot to see if the bleach solution will remove the coloring too much before trying it on the stain.

Lighter fluid and a toothbrush. Lighter fluid dissolves gum you will desire to purchase it on the food market generally. positioned a sprint rapidly on the stain scrub it then rinse it nicely with chilly water. do no longer positioned it in the washer without thoroughly rinsing the petrol out.

Use "Goo Gone" It works. Sometimes rubbing an ice cube on gum helps too, but it depends on the material.
