Perhaps you could start by smilling right now. They say smiling makes yourself think your happy. But really, there is probabally a reason you're feeling sad, if not, then perhaps you should talk with someone about it, you wouldn't want to slip into depression....In the meantime just think about all the simple beauties and pleasures of life, the sunshine, the sparkle of water, the laughter of a child, your favorite music, and if you are, think about the fun you'll have together with your friends and family. :-)

The best way to find a reason to smile is to help some who really needs it. If you have a children's or veterans hospital nearby you could volunteer. It's been my experience that the majority of both of these groups have wonderful attitudes and even just being around someone going through a truly trying time who has a positive attitude can bring you up. You might want to consider talking with a counselor or religious adviser to vent and get your head on straight. It's amazing how discussing a problem seems to make it clearer and often less significant. Good luck and try smiling at a child, guaranteed response.
