"Spend £10+ in Brochure 1 and you will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win a top product worth £X..."
I have put this in my newsletter(not published yet). Is it a good promotion? Do you have anyother not so costly competitions? I am an avon rep, trying to find new ways to get customers. Do you have any great ideas? If i am too use this promotion, how much should the product be worth?

It';s a good promotion. It should work just fine actually. Make sure the item is appropriate to the majority of Avon customers (eg not a motorbike) and that it costs reasonably and doesn't stray from the idea. Remember that you want to promote the actual Avon product, and are only using the item to provide a backup 'reason' to buy the item. Try look at the website below for ideas on promotion. I know it may be a lot to read but it might give you ideas for it.

Good luck!

For a prize drawer like that, you need a licence from your local authority to run a lottery. The way round it is to ask a ridiculously easy question like "What brand product do I sell?". That's how the TV companies get around it on their telephone quizzes

Forget about promotional brochures,if you get 5% return you will be lucky.Make your own luck by speaking to more people and/or social parties with neighbours and friends specific to your products.

I'm finding that contests simply aren't working as effectively as they have in the past.

Perhaps you should make something more merit based - something that involves skill, that involves helping your business and in return you reward them like you would a business executive or employee.

good luck!
