Guess it would depend on how close the wetlands are to the house and if the house has a good weeping tile system.

Is the house itself on wetlands? are the wetlands on the edge of the property or close to the house? Is there a problem with mold or dampness in the house itself? Remember wetlands can be defined broadly--I think it's generally the areas that tend to have standing water whenever there's a very heavy rainstorm.

Check with your Zoning officer to see if the house meets the
setback requirements from the wetland,it's usually 50ft but you will have to check your local regs. Remember water is one of the worst enemies to your house. If this house is in wetlands, Walkaway.

You may be able to get a tax break from it, or grants to keep the wetlands as is.

No, wetlands are protected and you will not be able to use this land, and may have many restrictions.

I live on 11 acres of wetlands.It's true you can't build a permanent structure on it but I just use it for grazing cattle and as a buffer between any close nieghbors.

Just like the other said - only if you plan to leave them alone. And, be careful with chemicals and runoff. You can get hit for spoiling your adjacent swamp.

Only if you like to be chewed on by mosquitoes and if your far enough north, some blackflies

Then again you might be lucky enough to have some beautiful dragon flies
