Some birth controls do cause you to gain weight but its all based on your bodies reaction to the hormones in the pill, I have been told that the iud is pretty good, but then there is the possibility of lossed sex drive, or facial break outs, you just have to research the option you choose they should have a website, type in the info on ask.com and it should pull up some info for you. good luck

I'm on the pill loestrin or something like that I've been taking it for 3 months and no wait gain yet but i have an extremly high metabolism so that could be why. My doctor said that since the pill i'm on is low dosage that you don't get the symptoms such as weight gain/acne/irregular period so i'd check with your doctor about it.

Depends on the person. My best friend gained about 15 pounds in three weeks on the pill, the pill never effected my weight but I lost 10 pounds on depo.

some brands of birth control do make you gain weight. But each one works differently on different people. One may make you gain weight, but not other people. I gained 15 pounds in 2 months when I went on Aviane, but all other brands made me sick so I had no choice. My sister is on Aviane and gained no weight.

some people gain weight and some dont. it just depends on how ur body reacts to estrogen. your best bet for not gaining weight is to make sure that whatever pill you are using has a low dose of estrogen. everyone told me i would gain weight, but ive been on ortho tri cyclen, ortho evra, and yasmin and i never gained a pound.
