She is probably very scared. A lot of teenagers feel that confirmation by a doctor equals telling their parents. Let her know that she can go to a Planned Parenthood center and get help confidentially and it will be affordable. She will eventually have to tell her parents, but she can do it when the time is right for her and will not be neglecting her baby in the meantime. This way whatever option is best for her: raising the baby, adoption, or abortion, she will have all of them available and explained to her.
As for your nephew, maybe he needs to a little one-on-one time with someone who has a baby, so that he understands the full weight of his decision. A lot of high school kids forget that baby's take more love than they give and they forget about the heavy responsibility that follows.

How can she be sure she is if she wont take a test. And if she is and wont see a doc thats just stupid. She is still a minor and under her parents care they should make her go.
If you ask me they are young and stupid and should not be having a baby. How will they support it, through our tax dollars and gov't handouts? Do either of them have a job, more importantly a good enough job to raise a baby on? It is not the gov't responsibility to raise that kid, its the parents, and if they cant do it they should give it up for adoption.
We've all been 16 and in love, you think you will be with that person for ever, but 99% of us are not. Can she raise a baby on her own when dad decides he wants to sow his wild oats? What about school, college, a career?
If they want a baby that bad, then they will still want one in 5-10 yrs when they are done with school, have good jobs and are married. Now is not the time.

There can be several answers to this one. If she claims she is pregnant but won't take any kind of test, then either she's afraid she really is or not telling the truth and doesn't want the proof to incriminate her. Second, your nephew is having some issues if he's 16 and actually wants a baby, this could be for several reasons. Either he has the compelling need to tie this girl to him and he thinks this baby might be the way to do it, or he feels the need to bring a baby into the world so he has a human being which will love him unconditionally. Either way, someone needs to speak with him about changing his mind, at least until he gets his teenage years behind him.

Direct them both to seek out wise, mature and godly advice with a trusted adult. Consider adoption for the baby if girl is pregnant. Listen to Dr. Laura Schlessinger on the radio for some harsh but sound advice. Good Luck and God Bless you for caring.

Don't worry about it it's not yours is it???
She might just be trying to get attention. If I was your nephew I would demand that she get a home pregnancy test and use it or go to the doctors. There is no way of knowing if she is lying or not till she does that.

i say wait it out. these lil kids want kids, thats not cool. they are going to ruin there lives having kids this young. i say you talk to her parents and let them know whats going . make her see a dr. unless she is lying to get attendtion. i say you be the adult and have the kids tested for more than just pregnacy, test them for aids, STD's. they shoud be in school learning not worrying about babies, where are the parents?

She could be scared, or I have heard of younger girls lying for attention or to make the guy stay with them. Good Luck and I wish you and your family the best!
