It still wouldn't hurt to have a carbon monoxide detector in an all electric house because carbon monoxide could come in from a running car in the garage or someone could use a heater or something else that puts out carbon monoxide inside the house.

carbon monoxide is a gas which is present after burning natural gas, propane and butane. it isn't normally found in all-electric house since they don't use natural gas, propane , or butane to heat or make hot water.
however, running a gasoline engine in an un-vented garage can be just as dangerous and forms carbon monoxide build-up if the garage is left shut up with the engine running. the engine can be a car, a gas outdoor grill, or even a gas generator.

The need for CO detectors is vastly overrated. In your house, use of photoelectric-type smoke detectors is a much better investment.

Your smoke detector(s) are probably of the ionization-type. This is because they are cheaper. Photoelectric-type are far superior for detecting smoke from home fires.
