He is unlistenable!!!! He is a know it all. Some of his comments tonight were out of left field. He needs to get out of the announcer box. Does he ever shut up, or ever not know everything about everything. Good news is I've found the game on a local station to listen to on the radio while watching a quiet TV.

He's just off base so much. I know he was a receiver, but any time a receiver interfers with a defender it's perfectly okay, but if a defender so much as looks at a receiver it's a penalty in his mind.

He totally blew off the Campbell injury.

I think he just likes to hear himself talk and not think about what he is saying.

I can't believe Collingsworth is still in the air. He's stealing money. It talks like he knows everything, but it's mostly trash coming out of his mouth. Plus he wines about everything. Geez, he's an embarassment.

The thing is, he does know football. But he is such a know it all that half the time he sounds dumb.

Kornheiser is bad, but then, he's third in the booth. Collingsworth is so bad he makes Gumbal sound decent.

Dennis Green is horrible but he did manage to get some of his Vikings teams into the playoffs (although grossly underachieving once they got there). Wayne Fontes from Detroit is another coach who deserves mention, if for no other reason then not being able to get a Barry Sanders led team into the post-season more than once. Ouch! Talk about squandering a Hall-Of-Fame Talent. No, for my money I would say that the Jets (and Eagles) Rich Kotite was the worst head coach I have ever seen (ie...post 1978). 3-13 and 1-15 in successive seasons, Kotite became the first NFL coach to lead his team to successive #1 picks in the draft (based on merit not trades). After the Jets cut Kotite loose, Bill Parcells came in and won 8 more games the following season with basically the same players.

Greg Gumble is worse than Chris Collingsworth but, of course, Gumble is the play-by-play guy and Collingsworth is the color guy. Put the two together and you've definitely got the most irritating premier broadcasting duo working today.

That said, if you listen to some of the second or third tier games on Sunday there's a lot of people working in broadcasting that do work that could only be described as "fair to middling".

Collinsworth IS terrible. But ESPN has one that is much worse:
University of Houston Heisman Trophy winner Andre Ware. The
only thing worse than Andre's NFL career is his career an a
color commentator.
Dennis Miller was horrid on MNF. Paul Maquire (sp?), Theisman,
Gumbel, and Kornheiser are all running close to Ware.

Yeah, he is pretty bad. I wish that the NFL could ban him from announcing. It we be very good for football! My top 4:

4) Thesimann - he's a lot better than he was a few years ago
3) Mustberger -makes up drama that isn't there.
2) Collinsworth
1) Kornheiser-does he even know the game?

Collingsworth is HORRIBLE. Yes, he is a knowitall but it is of b.s. He wasn't a great WR but for some reason tv big-wigs like him and that is why he have to suffer. Even though I am not a Giants fan, I hope Tikki replaces him because he at least makes sense. CC = BS

I found him to be totally informative on Saturday night. I think a few people here are pissed that the Giants won and are taking it out on Collingsworth.
