Whether there is a link or not, don't many people judge someone on their appearance alone?

People call me hot, yet i think im not and im considered a nice guy.

So i dont know, it depends on the guy's self esteem to be honest. Too much and you get the crappy type.

Very much so. Beautiful people for the most part are not as easy going and fun to be around as a general fine looking individual. Good looking people can get friends anywhere because they attract attention so they may not always be the best type of friend

OMG! Almost everybody I know judges others by their looks. I used to be that way as well. Time and life has taught me better. Wisdom comes with age and I have that going for me so now that I know........it's sad, but true more than I care to know. The heart is what is important..beauty fades and we are left with what is inside, what has always been inside whether it's good or bad.

yup, typically, the better their appearence, the worse they are on the inside because of the supposed power they have over others with their looks. Like being a spoiled brat as a kid.

But that's just typical. But yes, I look to there being a link.

there are a few links.

1- the way other perceive you influences how you perveive the world and even yourself

2-if you are raised to respect everone's looks, you will have a much warmer personality and a higher self esteem

3- if you were raised with the idea of being critical of people you will be harsh on yourself and prejudice to people who look different than what you were raised to agree with

Maybe but it's hard to say how that happens. For instance, the personality might be because of the way that person was treated because of the way s/he looked and not there from the beginning.

I do not have to think about it. This has been empirically shown for many years. Subject of many experiments. There is a link.

yes. a lot of it might be their expression and apparel, which we have some control over. i've read that people who say they look for a certain character trait in a partner are more likely to find pictures of people that are supposed to show that trait in how they look more attractive.

I've thought that really really good looking people have better self esteem and that they don't have to try as hard in life.
