I'm referring to card games, such as hearts. Someone told me this, and I'm not sure I believe it. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I"ve been playing Yahoo Hearts and Euchre and Spades off and on with a few different yahoo profiles for years, and never saw any rules about getting banned if you get too low of a rating! You might have a hard time getting people to play with you in partner games (like Spades and Euchre), but in Hearts, they'll be glad to play with you (since they might think you'll be easy to beat...).

I woulnd't believe it. If you have a very high rating and keep losing games on PURPOSE, then maybe. But if you play very badly and have a rating around 800-1000, I wouldn't worry about it. For example, I'm a very bad Go player and I didn't get banned.
If you're still worried: Play better.
