i'm playing in F major, or maybe d minor, i don't know how to tell the difference. The progression goes like this:
dm ?1 ?2 C Bb C dm
dm=X5776X
?1= X5755X
?2= 6X776X
C=X3555X
Bb=X1333X
i'm trying to write out some lead sheets, but i have no idea what how to name those two chords. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chord #2 is definitely a Bb Major 7, a fairly standard jazz chord voicing. Chord 1 is basically an Am with a D in the bass. The easiest way to write the chord would be Am/D. Also, you can get the same notes in a simpler voicing of XX0210, but choose whatever you like.

I'm assuming that you haven't changed any tunings on the strings...

x5755x (#1):
couldn't find it

6x776x (32):
Bb Maj7

Use this site below and scroll down near the bottom of the page, then plug in the notes you play and it will display the chord name on the left. In this case it displayed A#Maj7th, but since you're playing in F/Bb, An A# and Bb are the same thing, so I called it BbMaj7...

This is a great website because you can get diagrams of chords, or put in the diagram and get the name of the chord.
