That's a tough one as I've seen many great concerts. Bob Marley's last gig in NYC at the Garden was incredible. Lou Reed at the Bottom Line in the 80s was great and I also saw him at Radio City on the "Magic & Loss" tour. The Mavericks at Trampps was amazing - they played for three hours and the set included a series of Spanish songs sung solo by Raul Malo. Seeing Gavin Friday in a small venue was unforgettable. The Ramones, PIL, P-Funk, Ornette Coleman, Gang of Four, Bowie twice, Bryan Ferry, Steely Dan, Killing Joke, Merle Haggard, Allman Bros., James Brown, etc., etc. - a lot of amazing shows. If I had to pick one, however it would probably be Bob Marley - I'm just so thankful I had the chance to see this life-changing performer.

how on earth can you not pick your first gig, mine was rocks last ever gig at the old wembley arena, slept outside in London because couldn't find an open hotel or b&b, it was Bonjovi, Def Leppards hometown gig on the now tour when i met joe elliot and viv campbell(who signed my limited edition version of vault) was mind shattering. guns n roses were awesome but just a tribute band with axl up front would have been better with slash not buckethead, leeds fest rocked that year.

Hhhhmmmm sooo many gigs :D
But it might have been the Iron Maiden gig i went on the 23rd of December 2006 =) bcos I was amazed to hear that Bruce's voice live is exactly like you hear is on the CD. And all their stage performance was just great =) and I'm not even the biggest Maiden fan, but I like to see bands that are incredible live, not just good on a CD.

I hear New Order gigs are mental... never seen them. Surprisingly, I loved Billy Joel at Earls Court in 1990... Prince at Earls Court in 1992.... Rolling Stones at St James' Park in 1990.... Foo Fighters at the Astoria around 2003.... RHCP at London Docklands around 2001 - probably all time favourite was Nick Cave at Shepherd's Bush again, around 1994... supported by a guy called Phil Shoenfelt, who, if you like Nick Cave, you have to check out!
