I would assume that it's pretty basic care for them, after all they are only a species of worm. Just make sure they have lot's of soil, and make sure it gets moist (with water), because worms always come up when the soil is moist or damp.

I did some searching, and found a website that has instructions on proper care of the mealworm, and like insects. It says they are really easy to breed, so it shouldn't be hard looking after them. Check it out:

Hope this helps! Enjoy your new slimey pets lol!

I used to bye them in small takeaway boxes from the bird shop.. the box was usually filled with saw dust/thin chips. I think they feed on that but only can last so long? *shrug*

I just fed them to my birdies.
You should try keeping silkworms =) They are cool.. you just need to make sure u have mulberry leaves around and keep them warm.. they build cool silk type cocoons and then become moths and breed.

Have fun.

If they are meal worms keep them in your fridge if you don't want them to become beetles. They are happy in a dish of oatmeal with a slice of potato or apple for moisture. I have no idea how long they last as I've only had meal worms as food for my water dragon.

Put some cornmeal or flour in with them, that's what they eat.
