I think it would be a fun experience to be a role model and also stay in shape some myself.
I'm a 23 year old male with too much spare time after work and on the weekends.
I don't want to get too involved in anything real serious.. just something intramural I guess?

Suggestions?

Around where I live our church has community basketball teams for boys and girls of all ages and they usually have parents or high school students (like me) do community service and coach a team. If you have something like that in your area I'm sure they'd love to have you. We don't have a YMCA but they probably have opportunities there. Good luck.

No. I did community service over the last summer and it wasn't bad. I went to the rec center in my city. I got to be coach and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Hope this helps you.

Find out who's in charge of your local youth recreational league and ask them to coach. I think they should let you in unless you know nothing about basketball
