I personally do it when im cold since they are naturally warm! for some they may have an itch or they may just do it and it become an akward habit. Some younger people ( im 16) do it to kinda like im not sure how to explain it, to show off around people hints grabbing the crotch of their pants! I hope that explains it all. Oh i promise thats an real answer. I dont use yahoo questions enough to worry about points. I just like reading questions and answers lately since iv been off of school and really bored !! Sorry im rambling...

In public, the guys that do that are just self conscious of themselves, and I think some guys handle themselves so much they don't realize they are doing it publicly also. If it is due to discomfort, any idiot should realize they need to get different underwear that is more comfortable after a while of this. So if you see a guy doing this a lot, publicly, over a long period of time, he is obviously an idiot.

Few different reasons if there is an itch I scratch sometimes it needs a readjustment and because well it feels good. Remember are good time spot is on the outside so it gets touched and rubbed all the time without us consciously trying to.

I think they do it either because it's itchy or because it's in an uncomfortable position and they have to shift it around.
There was a guy in my high school math class who used to stick his hand down his pants and keep it there for a LONG time. Strangely, no one seemed to notice. He did this once all during a test!

Like others here I say because its uncomfortable and needs to be re-adjusted, or because it itches. Gals probably really can't understand this but it does itch now and then or the scrotum becomes pinched between our body and underwear. When that part of a guy's body is uncomfortable he really HAS to adjust it!

If you notice the one who do it are usually active guys.....it starts during teen years as guys have growth sputs.....adjusting to a more comfortable position.....cause the male equipment moves around....sitting down hard on you testies is painful.......temputure affects the male privates......heat expands them......cold contracts them............so you adjust....esp in warm weather or conditions

Maybe to make sure it's still there...or to adjust it so it's more comfortable...remember there's is on the outside and ours is on the inside...I imagine their stuff gets pinched and bound in their clothing from time to time...
